Terms of Use & End User Licence Agreement

1. Agreement

By creating an Encrypta account or using the Encrypta app on any device, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Encrypta. You must be at least 17 years old.

2. Licence

Encrypta grants you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app. You may not resell it, reverse engineer it, or use it to build a competing service. Where you obtain Encrypta from the Apple App Store, Apple is not a party to this agreement, has no obligation to provide support, and this licence is limited to use on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as described in Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement.

3. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abuse

Encrypta has a strict zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not use Encrypta to send, request, or share:

• Any sexual content involving minors, or any child exploitation material.
• Threats, harassment, stalking, doxxing, or incitement to violence.
• Hate speech targeting people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or national origin.
• Content that promotes terrorism, human trafficking, or the sale of illegal drugs or weapons.
• Spam, scams, phishing, malware, or impersonation of another person.
• Any content you do not have the right to share, including other people’s intimate images.

Reported accounts are reviewed within 24 hours. Accounts that break these rules are removed without refund and may be reported to law enforcement where the law requires it.

4. Reporting and blocking

Every conversation includes a Report control and a Block control. Blocking is enforced by our servers, so a blocked person cannot deliver messages to you. Reports send us the reason and any notes you write — never the contents of your encrypted conversations, which we cannot read.

5. Encryption and your responsibility

Messages are end-to-end encrypted with keys generated on your devices. Encrypta cannot read, recover, or hand over your message contents. If you lose your password, PIN, and every signed-in device, your message history is unrecoverable. That is by design.

6. Payments

Purchases made inside the iPhone app are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase, and subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your Apple ID settings. Purchases made on the web are processed by Stripe. Message credits are non-refundable once used. You can cancel a subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.

7. Account deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time in Settings → Security → Panic → Delete my account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

8. No warranty and limitation of liability

Encrypta is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Encrypta is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.
