Privacy Policy
Effective 17 August 2026
The short version
Encrypta cannot read your messages, calls, or files. They are encrypted on your device with keys that never leave it. We do not sell data, we do not run ads, and we do not build profiles of you.
What we store
- Account: your username, display name, and a password hash. No phone number or email is required.
- Encrypted content: message ciphertext and encrypted attachments we cannot decrypt.
- Delivery data: conversation membership and timestamps needed to deliver messages.
- Device keys: your public keys and an anonymous device fingerprint used for anti-abuse.
- Billing: subscription status and message counts. Card details are held by Apple or Stripe, never by us.
- Reports: the reason and notes a reporter types, plus the reported account id.
What we never store
- Readable message text, images, voice notes, or call audio and video.
- Your private keys, passcode, or PIN.
- Your contact list, location, or advertising identifiers.
Third parties
Payments are processed by Apple (in-app purchases) and Stripe (web). Optional message translation is performed on request and sends only the text you choose to translate. Optional crypto transfers happen directly between wallets; we never hold funds or keys.
Children
Encrypta is not intended for anyone under 17 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Law enforcement
We respond to valid legal requests, but we can only provide what exists: an account identifier and billing status. Message content is mathematically unavailable to us.
Your rights
You can export, correct, or permanently delete your account and data at any time in Settings → Security → Panic → Delete my account. Deletion is immediate.
